Creative Research

The first two sessions are dedicated to introductions and learning about each other's artwork alongside readings. These classes are "gatherings," or designed as social festivities held for a specific purpose: to support each other's work.

Each class afterwards would be broken up by "demos", "cautionary tales," and "gatherings". The demos will dive into database tools that are useful for artists, such as AirTable, Drupal, Exel, etc. The "cautionary tales" are comedic, story sharing and discussions about navigating collaborations, galleries, and non-profit arts. We'll also explore topics such as approaching art presses, writing clear emails, invoicing woes, navigating uncomfortable studio visits, studio floods/fires, and working with friends. During "Gatherings," we will work as a group to look over each other's shows, projects, single works or thesis.
